Brush Your Dogs Teeth

I always brush my dogs teeth - I know...I have too much time on my hand but it really does help keep their gums and teeth and their overall health good. Just like with human teeth - you mouth and teeth can say alot about your overall health and it is important. So why not brush your dogs teeth and if you start this routine when they are a puppy then they will be use to it and it will not be a problem when you do the daily teeth brushing.

Dogs need regular dental care. Buildup of tartar can cause inflamed, swollen gums and secondary infection that can lead to serious health problems. Dogs, one to three years old, should have their teeth brushed once a week. Dogs over three years old should have their teeth brushed three times a week.

Use a toothbrush that is made especially for dogs. They have long handles which allow you to brush the dog's back teeth. Never use
